Tarm woodfired boilers

Tarm USA recommends using a Termovar thermostatic valve to keep boiler return temperatures high (above 160 F I believe). For low temperature application radiant floor (mixed down slab)with a Solo plus & a large (500gal.) storage tank, can a lower temperature valve be used without risking condensation or effecting the gasification performance of the Tarm that make it such a high efficiency unit in the wood-fired realm.

Also, has anyone out there installed a Tarm in an open loop configuration, with boiler, tank and floor loops all the same water, taking the proper precautions with corrosion inhibitor and regular monitoring. Not recommended by Tarm for good reason due to potential for corrosion and premature failure and a bad product story that gets told. But for certain savy customers... open loop could be cost effective and there's a "no heat exchanger" performance boost. Any savy, but safe options out there?
