    What he is encountering sounds like a vent damper acting up a bit. It is a 4 year old boiler that has been operating fine until now, but he is now losing the pilot ever so often. Whenever this happens, the damper is open and when he knocks on it, it closes. He'll be changing dampers today.

    it was good you caught him on the job. It sounds like the environment around there high trees - low chimney and high winds with the stuck damper was putting the pilot out. As always Glenn you are the best and always at the ready. Really appreciate your help once again.
