adding electric valve actuators

A buddy has an old water boiler with various zones. One of his zones serves a kitchen and an upstairs bathroom. The bathroom is strictly floor heat and the kitchen is radiant. He has a manual mixing valve that is no longer operating so he wants to upgrade to an electric valve. I was planning on putting a modulating valve (Belimo) with a Johnson proportianal temp controller sensing the zone water temp. Just want to check my options but I was thinking this is the best way to control that zone but any suggestions/agreements would be greatly appreciated.
