bleeding/priming my hydronic system

It sounds like your purging method is a bit off.

In the interest of getting your heat on today, it's 33 degrees right now, might I suggest you call a qualified boiler service professional?

Perhaps the technician will show you a better way to purge your heating zones.

    help purging/bleeding hydronic system

I drained my hot-water, baseboard system yesterday and am now having trouble getting the air out of two of the three zones to get the hot water circulating. It was cold in NY last night.
I don't know why the downstairs zone is working because I really didn't do much. The two upstairs zones aren't working.
The only controls I seem to have are three drains just above the thermostat-contolled valves on each of the lines. I tried attaching a hose to the drain line and putting the other end in a bucket of water. One zone sucked up a gallon or so and the other didn't. No apparent effect.
    Any thoughts?
