What would cause the bellows in a LWCO to be eaten through in less than two years? What do I need to test the water for or is there something I can put in the system to stop this from happening again so soon. Thanks for the help. Dale

Start with pH
Where on the float is the leak? Is it from wear?

Noel,
It is leaking on the bellows area of the float assembly. Thanks for the input. I take it we should have neutral Ph in the sytem??? Dale0 -
8 or 9 is good
under 7 is an issue, and the boiler and controls will corrode to bring the pH up to 7ish. If the water ISN'T freshly put in and is under 7, it's pretty strong water.
The chemical treatment guys can explain more on this.
George? Can you add to this?
