The radiator won't heat up
This radiator won't heat up when we really need it to.
I've been told bigger vent... But others said a bigger pipe (presently has a 1.25 inch ID coming in...)
Looking for more opinions. Also, heard rumors of double-venting? It looks like this one may have a second port for a second vent near the bottom.
What should I do???0 -
That vent looks like it has been leaking
Are you sure it isn't stuck closed?

Leaking Vent
I would have said no, because it was just installed a month ago, but I was looking at it again last night, and I'm wondering. I tried to back it out, to get a better look at it, and it is stuck. In fact, the body twisted loose around the post that screws into the radiator. Maybe the threads were stripped, it looks like the thing is cemented into the radiator body. I found that by applying pressure to the vent with my hand, I could hear the air move through (or not move through...)
I ordered a new Gorton D vent, but it looks like a may have fun getting the old vent off (and if the threads are wrecked, the new one in, for that matter.)0
