tekmar 269

used these ? I am looking at the tekmar 269 steam control for a five zone pneumatically controlled steam system. I think the current set up maintains 1.5 psi in the main as means of control.

I am currrious to hear what experience all you pros have with this control.

Thanks as always for your input.

Robert

    Tekmar 269

I've used the 269 with great success over the past 5 years or so. Typically, I use them to replace a Heat-Timer and my customers are always happier. The 269 is easier to use and understand than the gadgety Heat-Timer.
Also, in my area, New York City, we have an excellent rep for Tekmar so customer support is rarely ever an issue.
The rep is Don Rathe Associates. Tell him John from Gateway Plumbing and Heating sent you (wink).

    tekmar 269 with indoor sensor

    Hi,
I install the Tekmar 269 steam control all the time. It is a great outdoor reset control. It comes with an outdoor sensor or course, but it also has a condesnate sensor that you locate on the return line at the furthest point in the basement. I like to add the indoor sensor option which you install in an apartment like a thermostat except you don't adjust it. All adjustments are made at the Tekmar 269 control. The indoor sensor prevents overheating the building and in general makes for more accurate temperature control. It has a lot of nice bells and whistles and the folks at Tekmar are real helpful if you need it. In conjnction with proper piping design, and proper venting I have great results with it.

    tekmar steam control

just put one in on a school a week ago, pretty straight forward, will need to tweak settings for awhile to fine tune but seems ok. Long haul to furthest condensate line, appx 300 ft mostly through mech. tunnel.
