Waste oil fired radiant (hr)

shop generates plenty of crankcase drain oil. the owner decided to put it to use. I slung a 115 gallon buffer tank under the boiler to even out the mismatch of the 1200 sq ft office zone and 8700 sq ft shop.

The shop has 5/8 Wirsbo MultiCor 15" oc, 1/2" at 12" oc in the office.

Injection mixing with a Grundfos MixiMiser in the shop and a 3 way thermostatic for the office zone.

I did misgauge the air removeal a bit on that horortozontal mounted tank. Took an hour to purge that bubble up through the top of the boiler! I need to rotate the tank and provide a "high point" in the future.

Other than that I am happy with the performance and noise level of the Clean Burn. On first fire the boiler ran 45 minuted non stop, with both zones calling on a 50 degree concrete slab.

Fun to watch the temperature gauges on an injection mix point. At start up I had a 70 degree delta T!
