Used these for machinery resonance once.
You may be able to hang the strut on a pair of "ring mounts".

    Noisy pump vibates floor above

I have a Taco 1619 pump for a snowmelt system. The pump is unforutaly located under the master suite. The pump sends vibrating noise throught the floor(which is insulated). Right now I am using unistrut and clamps, and also a few teat drop handers for support. I also piped in a copper noise reducer.
I think the noise is transfer through the main beam which the piping is suported to with unistrut. Any ideas?

    Sounds like...

hmmmmmmmnnnnnnnnrrrrrrrr... Right? It's what we in the industry call a hummer, pronounced "hmmmmmmmnnnnnnnnrrrrrrrr..." It's generally a sign that the HMNR bearing is being stressed. Do you know why these pups hummm? It's because they don't know the words to the tune:-)

It can be alleviated by using Uni-strut tubing suspended from the FLOOR OF THE BASEMENT, instead of the floor of the bedroom.

There are also some rubber insulated isolators that can be used to help alleviate the vibration transmissions. But I've got to tell you, a 1619 has some pretty healthy moving parts to it and you may still be able to hear it while it's running.

There are alternate wet rotored pumps available that will lessen the vibrations. Hopefully someone will come out with a variable speed pump controller real soon at a reasonable cost. That will keep the vibrations AND the electrical energy consumption down.

I see B&G has introduced theirs. Mass flow has the most to do with appropriate heat transfer. You can have the best boilers in the world on line, but if the pumps don't work right, your system can deliver for squat.
