I have a one pipe steam system. Im piping to 2nd story.Is 1 1/2" black pipe big enough to run up there. Will this work.

The answer depends on the size of the radiators you are supplying, the slope of the pipes in the runout, the direction of the condensate flow, whether you drip the riser, and other parameters.
I recommend buying "The Lost Art of Steam Heating". It is great reading and it tells you specifically the minimum size of pipe to use for risers based on the parameters you need. The book covers it all in wonderful depth and detail.
