To all,
By look at the manuall picture of the L404A1354 I noticed there some confusion to me:
The L404A1354 I have is new installed with the burnham, but the scale not line up( like the moving track 0 psi of DIFF to 0 psi of the MAIN). And the picture shows the 0 psi of diff should line up with 0 psi of the main scale, could anyone tell me if I need to do some thing about it? Thanks in advance.

The control you are referring to is the pressuretrol we have been using for several years now on our residential and commercial steam boilers. It was originally used on commercial products only and for that reason, the indicated values of pressure on the scales of the high limit both start at 2 psi or greater. We would normally advise setting the high limit scale for 2 psi and to set the differential for about 1-1/2 psi. Being that there is no indicated value on the scale, you will need to set the differential a little below the 2 psi mark to achieve this. It is important to remember as well that the control should be level and remain level while the boiler is operating. This will require that the pigtail or syphon be oriented so the it is perpendicular to the face of the pressure control. If you are looking for pressures lower than normal, you may have to use a limit with a lower pressure range such as a vaporstat. Hope this helps.

What will hapen when all mercury is phased out?

Good question
as of Oct 1, 2003 the T87F Thermostat with mercury bulb is no longer being made. There is to my understanding a T887 digital thermostat coming out. This was passed on to me by the Honeywell Source instructors when I attended their class recently.
Does this mean that other Honeywell controls with mercury bulb switches will also be dicontinued? Perhaps the folks from Honeywell or others can answer that question.0 -
I would imagine
that we will begin using microswitch type controls when that happens, or perhaps back to the old PA404A control. I would venture to guess that our folks in R&D are probably already testing various devices as we speak.

Still confused with the pressretrol

Thanks, I still got confused,the Diff scale piece of plate is shorter then the MAIN scale piece of plate, both of them are touched on the bottom of box. So, the moving tracks(the middle open space of scales plate) do't line up leval(on the same line),but, the the picture of the pressuretrol show on the manual do line up thier moving track. So, which one is right?

Don't be concerned
that the drawing depicting this control in the I&O manual does not specifically resemble what you have. The drawing in the manual was developed (probably by Honeywell) to show the function of each adjusting screw, but more importantly to show the proper leveling procedure. Set the High Limit and Differential to the previously recommended settings and you will be in good shape. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
