Setting Thermostats

We have a Honeywell Programable, Should it be left at one setting all the time? Say 68% or can it be set as we have it now which means it starts up a 3:00 pm from 60% to 68% then down to 60% for the night. Then restart again at 3:00 pm. We hurry in the morning. What would be the most efficent for our steam system?

setbacks and steam
Do you feel more comfortable at night with it cooler in the house?
And how's the system run when you do not set back, quiet & even heat? Noisy? Out of balance? Both?0 -
Night Time Heating
We sleep upstairs, so it is more comfortable to lower it. As far as noise goes it's not a problem. I'm just looking for the most effiencey from the system. I Dan's book he talks about stable temps and what happens with cold pipes.
Thanks,
Jay0
