Ive learned just enough here to get my self In trouble. I think I should lower the settings but im not sure what other changes I may have to make. Ive learned my installer doesnt have a clue and cant seem to find any one in the area that does. I would think with all the old homes in the area some one would know what they are doing.

take a screwdriver and turn the screw on top COUNTER CLOCK WISE!
Until it reads 0.5. Then put the "cut-out" at 1.
This will cut the burner out at 1.5 PSI and it will come back on at 0.5 PSI.
A better option for your system would be a vapor-stat. Your system probably only needs ounces of pressure to function efficiently.
