Insulating steam pipes

Am considering suplementing steam supply lines by insulating fittings (pipes already done). Also thinking about insulating return line and hartford loop. Was wondering others thoughts on the value of this.

You've already done the most critical thing
since the straight steam pipes make up at least 85% of the surface area. But if you're still getting too much heat in the basement, insulating the fittings and returns is the next step.
