solid state ignition

I have two questions (A) My boiler is 18 years old with solid state ignition what is the life time of a solid state ignition
and (B) my pressure gauge(1 pipe system) is marked 1 to 30 psig my pressuretrol is set at the lowest .5 and the diff
at 1.The boiler shuts off when the pressure shows 4 and cuts in when it shows 1, are there more precise gauges
with digital read outs or my boiler pumps too much pressure? Thanks

  • Is it gas or oil?

For one thing the gauge is not reading what the controls are set for, on a steam system you want to run at 2lbs off and 1/2 lb back on or as close to that as you can get it set. Let us know a little more about your system Make, Model, type of controls with some numbers then we can help you out.
