quantification of riser expansion

How much does a riser of 1 1/4 black pipe expand? For example, is it 1/4" per 100"? More? Less?

The coefficient of expansion

for steel is 0.0000065" per inch per degree F. So, if a pipe is heated from 50 to 200 F, it will expand (150 x 0.0000065"), or 0.000975" for every inch of its length. If it is 100'(1200") long, that would equal a total expansion of 1.17". The diameter of the pipe has no bearing on this.
