Popped relief valve

Just figured I would run this one by you guys and see what you think. We installed an Energy Kinetics boiler about one year ago. The home has some radiators and 2 copper baseboard zones. All is piped correctly. The relief valve popped for no apparent reason. I have seen this happen over the years on any system. Could never figure out exactly why.
I checked the extrol, The boiler pressure was correct, relief ok. We put a strainer in the return to protect the boiler and components from any debri from the old rads. I flushed that.
Any ideas....that was three weeks ago and all ok at this time.

    Relief

When this happens to me and it does, I put in a Watts recording gauge on a convient drain, nothing like seeing how high it's really getting. Sometimes the relief is just bad, sometimes the gas valve doesn't shut off completely, sometimes the pump isn't pumping as it should, sometimes the xtrol tank is just barely big enough, sometimes the boiler gauge isn't accurate. The other gauge really helps
