Steam heat timers

in a building with 4 stores in front and apartments in the back and on the 2nd floor . The thermostat was in an apartment on the 2nd floor , as far away as you can get from the boiler . While I was in there I noticed it was pretty hot - and this was when the boiler wasn't up and running . Can't be good for the rest of the building , so I told the owner about heat timers and the principle they work on . Since it's been a good 10 years since I installed one , I couldn't recommend a brand to the owner . Does anyone have good experience with a particular make ? I know Heat Timer is a brand in itself , but are there others ? Thanks in advance .

I've not tried thier's, but with tekmar, how can you go wrong? They work similarly.

Hydronicsmike reps tekmar, as you know. There is a person to go with the company, with them.

Slant/Fin still uses Heattimer, and they have a good controller, too. I like it.

I went to Tekmar's website and downloaded the specs . It looks like the perfect control for this application .

Ive had several good experiences using the Tekmar 269, Ron. I buy them from Pronto Gas Heating Supplies in the city and Don Rathe Associates supports the product. It's actually easier for my customers (and my techs) to use and set up than the Heat Timer.

Both Heattimer and Tekmar make great controls and have used them both. Tekmar is limited, I bellieve to only one boiler, so if you have two or more, you need Heattimer.
