can someone tell me what size the tappings are on a 120/80 low loss header - can't find it in the literature

    Low Loss

    has 2" BSPT make sure you use sufficiant hemp and pipe dope on all four 2" pipe threads.

    What is the correct way to apply the hemp? Do you twist it
    into a string and put it on like lamp whick? Then dope over it?

    No, leave it loose

    and matt it over the threads. It'll stick to the pipe dope.

    Hemp?

    We were thinking that stringy looking stuff was for recreational smoking!!! Your supposed to use it on the threads????? (g)

    My fine young German pipe fitting firend...

    Richard Graves of Heatmeister fame tells me he roughs up the threads with a hacksaw blade, applies a like coating of teflon paste dope, then drags the roll of hemp around the threads like tef tape dope, and he guarantees a tight joint.

    Is it legal to say hemp, roll, dope and joint in the same thread? Ya wanna bet that Ashcrofts people caught these threads and went "HMMMmmm..."

    Yes I saw the thread. The other's might not know what you are talking about. I and the A-G butted heads. He tried to fire me. That did not happen. So I spending time in Iraq. They can only keep me here for another six months or so.

    I have been wanting to back into retirement anyway.
