How do I install cast iron baseboard to a steam boiler?

  • It's not

something we can explain to you on the internet. Steam is very tricky; it involves a practical knowledge of physics along with many years of on-the-job experience in order to be able to do the most basic steam work.

You should consider hiring a professional.

Cut pipe once. Alan is correct that this is usually done by a professional however if you are determined and willing to buy or rent the cutters or pay to have alot of pipe threaded you can buy Dan's books, (the Lost Art and Golden rules books) read the directions that come with the baseboard and get it done. The work is more complex than it looks and hard work, what is your dental work worth, how is your rotator cuff? If it were me I would read to make sure the person I gave the check to knew what they were doing.

    Carefull

If the baseboard is not pitched correctly, you will have no heat, water shooting out of vents etc! Most of the baseboard I have seen installed on steam systems either spits water or does not heat as well as the old cast iron radiator.Read The Art Of Steam Heating before installing cast iron baseboard to avoid the problems mentioned above.
