thermic mixing valves

In Dan's book, Primary-Secondary Pumping Made Easy!, he refers to an ESBE thermic valve to protect the boiler from thermal shock sold by Danfoss. I tried to get one of these valves and entered a parallel/bizarro universe where no one wanted to sell it to me. I was told that there is not one to be had on the entire western hemisphere by this manufacturer. I even was willing to pay for overnight shipping from anywhere, waving cash around like a drunken sailor. The rep said that in 5 years he has sold a grand total of 7. It almost seems that he really never wants to reach 8. I'll give Enerjee/Thermovar a try tomorrow. Perhaps they are willing to take my money. Wish me luck. BTW, the Danfoss website sucks, they know it, and "a committee is looking into it". Stay tuned.......

    I think

that same valve was sold under a few names. You may be on the right track. I know a supplier in Kansas City that may have some sold under the Paxton label.

I have an 1-1/4" Danfoss thermic mixing valve brand new and still in the box return mixing valve if you want it. Cost was $80 Cdn and will sell for same if you really want it. Element is replaceable and easily serviced via 4 bolt cover plate. Almost used it on latest boiler retrofit but went with a differetn bypass system instead.

Let me know and we can arrange shipping.

    Thermic valves -Ouch!!!!!

If you were looking for an 1 1/4" valve, the response was correct (although not very astute). These are on back order and should be available by Dec. 1 . One inch and 1 1/2 inch units are in stock in Mississauga.

If your still looking for one let me know what size and I'll see what I can do to get you one on a rush basis.

    Thermic Valve

Thank you for taking the time to reply. Enerjee came thru with the valve I wanted. If it is the valve I needed...well that's a different story! Thanks again.

Thanks for the info! Had I but known.... Ah well. Enerjee came through for me, however. I'm sure you would have, too. Thanks again.

Thanks for your reply! The Enerjee thermic valve was installed yesterday and it appears to be working perfectly. It is protecting a boiler on a one-pipe gravity conversion job. I used primary-secondary piping and various other "new-age" hydronic ideas and components that the job needed. The main piping was installed in 1911, so you could say that it was the technological equivelant of installing a V6 engine into a Model T Ford. I was wearing a Dead Man's baseball cap as a talisman.
