Burnham OPUS
Why not show us all how it turned out.
The Opus didn't exactly take the heating world by storm in terms of sales. Seems a little cumbersome to me compared to most of the other hi-end stuff available out there.
It's NOTHING like the Munchkin or Vitodens. Apples & oranges.

OPUS
I just finished a Radiant installation using a Burnham Opus boiler. WOW! what a boiler. does everything except make the morning coffee. (work on that Glenn). I'm very pleased and the homeowner is awed.0 -
which one............
OIL or Gas? If gas how does it compare to a Munch or/and The vitodens? Inquiring minds want to know? kpc0 -
What type of
control strategy did you use?0 -
Hi Frank
Glad to hear you liked the Opus! I'm quite sure that we could rig up something to bring that coffee pot on in the morning! Post some pictures if you can! Thanks.

OPUS
hOW COME YOU DON'T LIST THIS (OPUS) BOILER ON YOUR WEB-SITE??? hAVE HAD A FEW home owners ask about it and i feel like a jerk when i could'd answer their question.Have not been able to find any information about this boiler from my supplier on Long Island.0 -
check out ...
this web site www.aboutopus.com It will have a bunch of info on both the gas and oil models...I still am wondering which model the guy installed above???????0 -
Jerry
There used to be a button link on the Burnham web site to go directly to the Opus site. I'm not quite sure if this got inadvertently changed to something else or what. Thanks for the heads up! In the meantime, at the very bottom of the opening page of our web site, there is a notation regarding Energy Star Ratings that does contain a link directly to the Opus site. Hope this helps.

French Roast
may not be doable Ed! Nice to hear from you! Some day we'll get to meet.

I believe
that he installed the O-1 model oil-fired model Kevin. By the way, how close did you come in guessing the time to cut the car in half in Portland last month. I had to head out to get to another state that afternoon. Great to see you again!

Glenn...
I guessed 3 min....he did it 90 sec.!Hope to see you soon...glad to see you are still hanging out here! kpc
PS. thanks for the info. I hear that the G1 is like 99% AFUE..YES?0 -
I'll hire that guy
to come here and cut my son's "dead car" in half to get it out of the driveway! Oh well, I always thought that that kid's right foot was a bit heavy from the day he was born! He has now replaced it with a nice Acura but I have to keep staring at the dead beast out there.
The G-1 AFUE efficiency is waaaaay up there at almost 99.7% AFUE. They absolutely love cool return water systems such as radiant and snow melt. The stainless steel heat exchanger built into allows for direct connection to snow melt. Has an upper end temperature limitation of about 140°F though to stay condensing. The O-1 oi-fired model does not condense and has upper limit the same as any boiler. Gets it's nearly 90% AFUE due to the built-in bypass with variable speed injection from the boiler to the system much the same as the Revolution. Hope this helps.
