    problems with radiators

i live in an old house with an oil burning furnace and radiator heat. there are a total of 8 radiators in my home. 5 on the first floor, 3 on the second. my problem is only 3 radiators on the first floor get hot when the furnace turns on. 2 on the first floor and all 3 on the second are not getting hot. i looked at some of the posts on this board, and checked the pressure on the oil burner. it was showing zero pounds for pressure, and 40 feet. the furnace does come on, but it only stays on for a few minutes. any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks,
    tony

    Winter's coming,

don't mess around, get an expert in there! If you are really determined to solve it yourself, limit them to an hour, and pump them for information the whole time. Then you can really decide if you want to give it a shot or not.

Were there two pointers on the same scale

one pointing to zero and another to 40 feet? And another scale and pointer for temperature?

If so, it's a hot-water system that's very low on water. Shut that boiler down and call for service NOW!
