Oil-fired hot water boiler

First, I am a homeowner. I have been reading alot lately from this site, and might I add, learned alot too. This is also the first time i am actually posting anything.
I have an oil-fired boiler, a Burnham. My wife has been bugging me to add another zone of heat to our heating system. I have added/deleted piping in a heating system before, but only on a gas-fired heating system. Those attempts succeeded without too many glitches.
My boiler also make my hot water via a tankless coil. I am about to cut in this new zone tomorrow morning bright and early because you never know exactly how long a "well planned out" project may take.
My question is, "Can I treat this oil-fired system the same wasy as I would a gas system?" I plan on killing power, closing my valves on my existing zones, then draining the boiler low enough to cut in the new zone. Once the new zone is in I will purge the air from the new zone and fill the system pressure to about 15psi. My big concern is the startup. Is there anything else i need to do for the "oil-startup" that I wouldn't normally do for the gas startup? Reset switch?
You guys are extremely knowledgeable and hope someone is willing to give me some advice.

Oil-fired hot water boiler
Paul,
Other than the burner, the oil-fired boiler works the same as the gas ones you've worked with before. Kill the power (as you've planned on doing) so the burner can't come on while the boiler is low on water, and go ahead with the job. Once the new zone is purged, and the boiler is refilled, turn the power back on and the burner should fire up as always, provided there is a call for heat from one or more of the zones.0 -
Thank You Jack for taking the time to help me out.
To be honest, I didn't think I was going to get a response.
You are a scholar and a gentleman.0
