Munchkin boiler blues part 2

The same boiler I whined about a week ago,Munchkin 80M, just got replaced today. I ran it through all the tests and replaced almost every part on it. The burners would never come on long enough to establish the flame. Guy at HTP told me to adjust the throttle screw. I did this and it worked for 1 day. I went back the next day and it was flashing F10.I replaced the flame sensor it worked 1 more day. I didn't have any parts for it so I bought another Munchkin and took parts off of it to try and get this one going. Finally I said piss on it and replaced the whole damn thing. It seems to be working now,but I am really skeptical. I talked to a service rep and he told me after servicing 100's of these he had never seen one do what this 1 did on start up. Well, I sold 6 more of these when I sold this 1 and man oh man I hope I don't have to go through this again. It has been 1 helluva bad week!!!

    Did they ask you

to send them the old one, so they can try to figure out what caused such catastrophic failures?

    not good

Can't believe that...seems impossible that it wouldnt work. If i was you i would call the munchkin people and have them take it to the lab and figure this one out.

Oh yeah their gonna get it back allright!! Yes I am supposed to send it back to them. All I can hope for is they can figure out what went wrong and hopfully get a refund on it. I did learn alot about the boilers though. I had to run this through alot of tests and self diagnostics and I learned quite abit about how it ticks. I still don't know what the hell was wrong with it. Maybe they can find out. I have 6 more of these to install so I am hoping for the best.

They sure are sweet when they work. They are light weight and easy to install. I am goin to try them out again. Lots of infloor heat jobs that are just crying for these boilers. I do have bad days but I don't think I'll ever throw in the towel. I been doing it to long to start up something new.

    Peace John......

I have uhhhhhhhhh................ lots of them out there.

Just finished another one tonite in fact.

I have only had one issue to date on a particular Munchkin and it was NOT the boiler! It was the elesctrician. When I disconnect both wires form the panel I should get ZERO voltage at the switch right? Well one of mine still had 65 volts!

HTP is a great company with GREAT people! They will stand behind the product and they will not let you get burned.

The best part is this forum. What a powerful force it is!
