Note too, 1 gallon of #2 oil is 140,000 BTU, 1 Gallon of Propane is 93,000 BTU (92k?), and one Therm (approximately 100 cubic feet) of N.G. is 100,000 BTU.

Also, the N.G. price data is for 1000 cubic feet not 100 cubic feet, and that all the energy values need to be multiplied by the efficiency of the system, e.g. oil burned at say 84% eff. yields a net of 140,000*.84 = 117,600 BTU.

While there are other considerations in choice of fuel, at least one can make an intellegent comparison of the cost per BTU.
