radiant in plaster ceiling

Is this a recent occurrence or has it always been this way?
Have there been any recent changes to the system?
Radiant ceilings generally operate with a higher water temperature than radiant floors.
What is the setting of the aquastat? Does the boiler reach this temperature in operation (i.e. cycle the burner while the circulator is still running)? Is there a reset control? Any chance that someone has "fiddled" with settings?
Is the supply piping quite hot close to the boiler but the return piping close to the boiler MUCH cooler?

radiant in ceiling
I have a 50 yr. old house with radiant in the plaster ceiling. The rooms a not comfortable with Tstat at 70.
At what temp should my mixed to ceiling be at? Insulation is present, but should there be a special insulation under the present?0 -
ceiling radiant
From what info I have gathered over the years, the old copper tubing used in plaster was to have a max of 140 degrees before expansion got out of hand and striping would happen. This is only an appx. but I think fairly close. 85++ year old mech. engineer told me this who has designed many systems over the years.0
