Electronic Air Cleaner

The UV light should not have any effect on the electronic air cleaner. Boards usually are damamged by voltage spikes or water leaks, and in this case, there was no evidence of water. Get a plug-in type surge supressor, and plug your air cleaner power line into it. Better yet, get a whole-house surge supressor, and protect your computer, TV, stereo, microwave and everything else, too! The whole-house unit needs to be installed by a licensed electrician. I'm sorry this happened to you, but at least you got a warranty replacement. Thanks for using our products!

I installed a new Honeywell 16x25 electronic air filter on my hot air system. Also I installed a 18 inch UV light in the return duct. The air cleaner worked fine for two days then stopped .I checkeh the built in air flow switch and it was fine.I called honeywell and spoke with a tech and he told me what to check and I did .He told me to replace the power board.New power in,working fine.My question,do you think the UV light had anything to do with it?Or just a defictive board?
