Clay Pipe - Thanks

for all the helpful advice given in response to my inquiry concerning cutting clay pipe.

6 inches of digging got me to a joint where the straight end was in the ground so no cutting there. Foot of digging the other way to another joint.

Cut the bell off with a 4in grinder and diamond cutting blade. Like a friend of mine use to say "slicker than snot on a brass doorknob". Mad Dog - you were right on about watching my fingers. Yes, I still have all of mine!

Ended up replacing 2 sections of clay with SDR-35. The "fernco" couplings weren't Fernco brand (forget the exact mfgr) but I was pleasantly surprised to see that they were made in the USA.

I tried to locate one of those T-handle 5/16 torque rachets. Half the supply places never heard of them, the others could order it.

Thanks again guys.

Mark
