Help get the air out of my Taco 007 IFC!

This season so far I have installed about 12 Taco 007 IFC (Internal Flow Check)and they work great but!!!!! that was when I installed them on the feed. This last boiler install I put them on the returns (7) because the all the feeds did not start in the boiler room and I was not going to repipe the house. The home owner keeps calling me back with no heat on one of the zones(air stuck in the pump). The only way I could get the air out is a 5/16 nut driver and loosen the motor off the valute. I also installed a spirovent (standard practice) and it is not working as well a it should. Is anyone also having this problem and what are your suggestions.

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Same Problem

I had the same problem about 2 weeks ago, I've always used the regular 007 on feed header only, but like you I had to put 2 on a return header with the IFC. Well anyways to make a long story short, You need to put purge set ups after the circulators, before the boiler then a valve. The whole purpose is to draw through the IFC and not trap water in it by purging b4 it.

    I had the same problem....

you need to have a drain on the back /boiler side or on each side of the pump to allow water to get in....they don't work on the return side w/o it.Think like the flow of the water w/ that check in. They (taco)also doesn't tell you in the instructions. I ended up using the Grunfos 15-58 instead...just another reason to pump away. kpc
