Choosing a 2 stage thermostat...help please!!
I am in the process of heating a bathroom with radiant (sandwiched between the subfloor and tile backer board). The radiant is not quite enough to heat the bathroom alone as there is a whirlpool in the corner taking up a significant portion of the floor. I needed to install a 4' section of baseboard as a supplemental heat source. I wish to control this bathroom with a 2 stage thermostat with a fairly tight differential (2 degrees max.). There is no A/C to control.
I didn't realize it would be so difficult to find a 2 stage thermostat to suit my needs. All that I have found so far are heat-cool thermostats (and even those choices are extremely slim). I want 2 stage heat only. Is that asking too much? Do any of you talented folks know of a good choice? I don't want to hang two thermostats side by side, but I will if necessary. If my only choice is a heat-cool thermostat, which is the simplest, most reliable, best choice, etc.. Robertshaw, Honeywell, ??? I had visions of calling my supplier and having them pull one right off there shelves!! Ha Ha!!
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob Murray

I'm surprised by your trouble
there are lots of two stage heat stats out there, from plain to fancy. Honeywell T841, t874, t8411 and Chronotherms. White Rodgers 1F-57, 1F-79, 1f-89 and more. PSG TDMS24. and Tekmars 511/512. Hope This helps....must do have cooling too, but many are still cheap.

2 stage heat only
I would also like to know what you decide to use. Maybe Bill can tell us a honeywell model but the T841, T874, and T8411 are all heat & cool stats. I know Johnson makes a T25 model but it is not digital and not really attractive.
I'm not familar with the tekmar line.

Thanks guys
The tekmar 512 is EXACTLY what i'm looking for. I have a 2 y.o. tekmar catalog and these aren't in it. Time to update.
So much for depending on your supplier as well ( I actually learned this a long time ago).
You guys are invaluable.
Thanks again,
Bob0
