What about a little munchkin, price is quite reasonable for a condensing boiler.

    I'm looking at a job....

...where I'd like to use a Teledyne Laars copper fin boiler to heat a pole barn. Total btu load is just under 50K, and it will be single zone in-slab radiant with 106* fluid temperature. I've never done a system with one of these boilers, so I'm not quite sure what the best piping design would be to allow temperature control while maintaining the needed flow rate through the boiler.

Temp. control will probably be a 3-way tempering valve, but I'm going to suggest a promix101 as an alternate. Can anyone suggest a proper piping system for this?

    Thanks,

    The Endurance

We have a whole development done with the Teledyne Laars Endurance 110 EBP this unit does both heat and hot water. We love this unit. The best thing about this unit is that it has a modulating gas valve so your not bringing up the unit to full fire all the time. This unit does 110,000 BTU's but it will modulate it's self to what your system need's. If your not useing it for hot water the tank on the bottom acts as a buffer tank, this tank is filled with boiler water and on a call for domestic water the anticondensing valve closes and diverts wate to the S.S. plate exchanger.
The best way to pipe it with primary/secondary piping. Run your primary loop, then two close tee's and the into your mixing valve or your panel.

    The Endurance

We have a whole development useing the Teledyne Laars Endurance 110 EBP. These are all radiant houses about 1000 square feet. We love these unit because you can put them in a small room. This unit does 100,000 BTU's. This unit does both heating and domestic hot water. If your not going to use this unit for hot water the tank on the bottom acts as a buffer tank. On a call for domestic hot water the unit goes into priority and the anticondensing valve closes and diverts it through the plate exchanger. It also has a modulating gas valve so that it doesn't come up to full fire if it dosen't need to. You only ues the energy you need so this unit wont be to big for your project.

    Thanks,

Nice looking job! I would really like to be able to use the JVH series boiler though, if the control and piping schemes don't get too crazy. This is a kinda "radiant on a budget" situation, and the Endurance is about twice the cost of the JVH.

    Always best

to primary secondary a copper tube, to assure flow. Of course return protection would be crucial with a big, hungry, cold concrete slab like that.

The Wirsbo promix should handle all these items for you, go for it.
