Bahamas! Now that wouldn't be a bad idea!
Dan,
Let's see how all of the Wallies would feel about having a Wetstock in some exotic location such as Greece, Spain, or perhaps even Germany?

Last time
I was in the Bahamas, I walked into a bar and bounced off of Burl Ives like a tennis ball off a school wall. Even funnier was the way he looked riding on a tiny motor scooter. Looked as if he was levitating.0 -
It's Baltimore
but we're still working on the location. Thanks.Retired and loving it.0 -
Just a suggestion...
If you can book a hotel near BWI airport, that makes it real convenient for the NY,NJ,NE crowd, who can hop on Amtrak, or the guys further out who must fly. Just a thought.0 -
We're looking
to be in the Inner Harbor, which is a short cab ride from BWI and a lot of fun.Retired and loving it.0 -
Michigan
Don't forget us !!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
That's good...
The Amtrak crowd can get off the train in downtown Baltimore, too. The light rail runs from the airport to the Inner Harbor as well. The B&O Railroad museum will probably still be closed due to the roof collapse last winter, but I'll watch for any developments there. Some serious steam stuff in that collection that would be a dandy side trip. Nice aquarium, good restaurants, too early for a game at Camden Yards, though.0 -
Southwest
Detroit to BWI. Great fares!Retired and loving it.0 -

They can be in charge of the party this time....

Let me know Glenn
I'll be more than happy to help with a tour! Maybe we can stop by York Central Market for a beer(G). That's if the brew pub is open by then. It's going to have radiant heating in the new slab, which is a very cool thing to do in a 45,000 square foot building built in the 1700's that is timber framed with a very high ceiling. Built by shipwrights out of Baltimore - so there's your inner harbor connection. King steam rules the remainder. If that ends up on the tour, I'll be happy to give everyone a condensed version of its history - including the raucus demolition of the original market sheds that sat in the square that took place in the dead of night. Political intrigue at its finest! I'll need room to swing my arms about though - can't tell that story while sitting or standing still.

there are no great fares from Cortez to anywhere...so I'll be there in spirit when not in person0 -
Me too, Steamhead
Here is my connection to Baltimore inner harbor. I lived on this steamer for 2 Carribean cruises and a yard period in Curtis Bay, MD. I took this photo right after the yard period, in 1980.
Her two steam boilers were named Huff & Puff.

Hi, Noel!
You can show them around "Huff & Puff", I'll give them a tour of "Mount 51" and maybe introduce them to a chipping hammer, wire brush, red lead and color coat!0 -
P U
Red Lead, Blue Death, needle guns and chipping hammers.
I was an ET, I worked (read: painted) the ET shack, and the mast area.
If you can believe this; I never went below and looked at the boilers. Not once. This was before I even knew what a boiler was.
I'm looking forward to this trip.

I will certianly try
to make Wetstock IV. Had a great time at III. Haven't been back East since 1965. Used to live in Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York as a kid.

Hey Glenn
Maybe you could bring all the guys to Haydn Czubs?
I'm sure they'd all enjoy the food.
