Ohio License

I am interested in installing a boiler in our church and school. They have a quote from the contractor that has been doing the maintenance, however he quoted a new boiler based on existing boiler input size. I would think that first the connected load should be measured along with a heat load calculation, and last the new boiler would be much more eff. and the output should be used. Am I correct in my thinking? I am a licensed HVAC and Refrigeration contractor in Ohio. I have done some residential hydronic and radiant work here. My question is what is required to be qualified to install a boiler in a commercial building here in Ohio? I believe I would have to take the hydronic licensing test and pass. What else would need to be done? Is there another application that would have to be filed with the state.

Thanks is advance for the info.

  • i'm thinking that there

may be a galley in that school with a 50# boiler, and that may be considered a high pressure boiler..the hydronics license may only be good for heating boilers at low pressure..our hydronics ''license'' verse certificate is so new its hard to say. I would recommend directing your question to the ocieb..phone-614-644-3493...email address is dic.ocieb@com.state.oh.us ,,hope that helps..gerry gill, secretary, clvd master plbrs league.
