Tempering Valve for domestic hot water

I heat with a wood fired outside boiler that also puts water through a heat exchanger to heat the domectic hot water. I have a Watts tempering value located on top of a 52 gal hot water tank. The system works well for heating the water however the Watts tempering valve does not do the job of cooling the water. Does anyone have any recomendations. Thanks Joe

For the Watts 1170
they recommend the valve be heat trapped 8 to 12 inches below the tank hot water outlet to prolong the life of the valve. Have you tried adjusting the valve?0 -
in addition ...
I would use a good quality mixing valve like a Sparco or a taco 5000...trap the cold AND the hot from the heater...kpc0
