i have been working on an old vapor system,it has a barnes &jones #1 condensator with a b&j vent trap#2. i think the condensater is not working properly so i replaced the presuretrol with a vaporstat set it at 8oz cuts in at 4oz. i also replaced the two b&j angle traps used to vent the mains. raditors are heating now. the problem iam having is that i am seeing a small amount of vapor coming out of the &2 VENT TRAP. is this normal or do i have some raditor traps leaking by. is the &2 vent trap still available or can i replace with a main vent. thank you for your help

You probably have some leaking traps

Find them and fix them. If the vent trap is shot and B&J no longer makes it, a large main vent like a Gorton #2 will work.

The Return Trap (Condensator) can be rebuilt- try Tunstall if B&J no longer makes parts.

  • Joe,

I have the paperwork for the B&J condensator at work (I hope I can find it). I can fax it to you Monday, if you like.
