Considering a Peerless oilburner / Riello burner....need help!

Confused

I'm considering a new residential Peerless Oil / "Partner water heater" cast iron boiler....WBV-03 / with a Riello R-35 series burner.Question is should I go with the Riello or a more common Beckett motor.I like the efficiency of the Riello, but I'm afraid of service issues....any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated......One confused home owner....thanks for reply's.....Sully

    Funny you should mention this

I just installed a new Burnham LE boiler with a Beckett.

I didn't want a Beckett, but I couldn't get the LE with a Riello in time.

Fired the boiler up and the Danfoss oil pump siezed!

I will NEVER EVER EVER use another Beckett burner! EVER!

I bought a Riello repair kit several years ago and I have NEVER had to replace a part on a Riello burner.

No problem getting Riello parts, so don't let that deter you.

Riello is the only burner we will install from now on.

    Both are good

I have sold and installed Riello's Becketts and Carlin . They are all good. They all have occaisonal defects straight from the factory too.

I service quite a few Peerless WB Oil boilers and they are a nice unit. The majority of the ones I service have Becketts I service a few with Riello's. I have found no differance in soot build up.

If you go with the Riello make sure you are not locked into one company to service it. The few that install Riello around here all tell me they do it to lock in the customer.Hmmm.

Yeah Mark I agree with you never had much good to say about that Danfoss fuel unit that the American mfg's use when Suntec can't keep up with demand. I think Beckett is a fine burner.

    was

it old stock I wonder? I remember the Danfoss go-round last year, but I thought all was back to normal? At least I haven't been getting anything but the clean-cut pumps..

Homeowner musta thought it was a pretty quiet unit..hmmmm :)

    Hi Bob!

The boiler came from the factory last week so I doubt that it was an older burner.

It doesn't make a homeowner very happy when their brand new boiler won't fire.

    Riello from now on.
