Bad Wirsbo telestats. Why,,,
I need help brother and fellow Wallies,
* These things are marked: Telestat 261 C (see photos). I'm unfamiliar with this style. It's an old style Wirsbo Telestat right? Heat motor type. Whell these pesky telstats are on two sets of Wirsbo's manifolds. Most all of them have been replaced (except for six) with the newer style because they stopped working alltogeather. Two of the six aren't moving the plungers downward at all anymore. Turns out this customer has had to replace nearly all of them that were this type due to their "sticking" open and closed intermitently. Certainly a sticky situation;-)
Two more are now giving her trouble. The new style (motorized and says Wirsbo on them) all of them work flawlessly. She wants me to go ahead and replace all of the old style actuators now while I'm there and before they fail to operate.
Why am I having this problem? Is there something wrong with these telstat valve operators or is it the valve assembally itself? Or do I really need to pull apart the valves and lube em up with heatproof grease?
Rightfully so, the customer expects a longer lifespan than five years (aprox.)They SHOULD last at least 15 years without any service don't you think?
Wirsbo dealers & HCT members, where are you?
Gary
