B&G #67 automatic air vents

I've wondered about the automatic air vents, in particular the B&G #67 with the bicycle tire valve on top.
Do these function without dribbling water while releasing air ?
I am interested in installing one to replace a manual bleed valve on the main floor at one of the baseboard convetor sections. It is the only bleed valve on the main floor and would save me some steps while refilling the system.
The cap would be unscrewed only during refilling the system and closed after the system has been reactivated and run for while.

This is just an opportunity for me to try a $24 gadget if it works the way it claims to.
Just not sure if they are designed for hands-off baseboard bleeding during a refill/recharge.

Thanks for any insight.

    Think system

The float vent isn't meant to release large amounts of air like a manual vent, one reason they do leak is using them for high velocity high volume venting. If you want air out and haven't already done so set your boiler up to pump away and get a spirovent. Doing this perhaps you won't need the rad vent.

    Dale -

    Thanks for explaining the #67.

We haven't had any air problems and the system is working fine.
Need to drain the system for rebuidling two series 100 circulators but not much time to do anything else before the tenants return.

There is a Taco airscoop setup on the pumping away side with an automatic air bleeder on top of it.

Pumping away mods will be after this heating season....Many things that needs to be corrected.

They are definately not for releasing a large amount of air on startup. Generally what I do is install a manual valve just before it 1/4" or 3/8" and vent the air from the system on startup through the valve. I re-install the automatic air bleeder to get rid of the small amounts of air that seem to creep into the system from time to time and they work great.
