1 1/2 years ago. Spent a lot of time, coming up with multiple options and scenarios with prices....i.e., stay with oil (which I recommeneded) staged boilers et cetera. Gas conversion with 2 or 3 boilers for fuel savings....blah blah blah. Anyway, I was the highest bidder and had several people on the church board pulling for me, as I had worked on the steam system quite a few times with great success and also took care of all there plumbing and heating needs. It went to a vote, and even though I jumped through hoops explaining how our strategy and work was superior and they would save alot in fuel, and they went with "...the middle price." Some say its just business, but I was hurt. I put a lot of time in on this, knew the cold hard truth, made my case, but now was being looked at like I was trying to soak the church. I got my first chuckle, and feeling that they were going to be sorry when I saw the crew that showed up to do the job. It wasn;t XYZ heating Inc, who was supposed to be doing the job, but some real shafty looking SUBS that looked like they just walked outta the crack house 2 hours before. I never got back in to see the job, but a friend did recently. He's not a steam guy, but he knows what a good job should look like...it was so-so. But the real laugh came when the sextant was carrying on and on how the gas bill this past year was double of what they were promised it would be, and that they were very unhappy now. The contractor was not returning calls and now they were looking for an "expert" to tell them how to make this brand new equipment run more "efficiently." hee hee...a prophet is without honor........I guess they be learning the hardway....hee hee. Lord forgive me, but I tried to tell 'em. Mad Dog

you could

offer to rip that c**p out and put yours in, but it'll cost more as you now have to correct the other mistakes...
