Just inspected a house that had one of these. Very small heat exchanger running a working fluid loop to a liquid to water heat exchanger indoors. Working now but wonder if anyone has any idea of repairability or source of information or repair parts for likely problems of these systems?

Well...
Reliability, terrible
Source of parts & support would be your friendly, local Amana distributor.0 -
Cross yourself
Maybe a few times and walk away. This is a better halloween post. This is the HTM idea that cost Amana millions and a great reputation. No " we service all brands" shops that I know of will touch these. There used to be one dealer in my area that would work on them but that was a few years ago.0 -
Was a great concept, but.......
Have worked on a LOT of these. Some were more reliable than others. Average life of a good one was about 12 to 15 years. Parts are getting scarce and expensive. A great product to replace the outdoor sectoin with is the munchkin boiler. Just have to find a place indoors for it or build a "doghouse" for it so you can keep the condensate from freezing. A plus is that the munchkin will give a whole lot better efficiency.0
