usually supplied when (a) system is using potable water.
or (b) the supplier ran out of IB pumps & coughed up a Bronze one in leui of.
I'd be more concerned if the situation was vice-versa.

Is there a reason why a bronze body Series 100 circulator would be used in a series loop of a hotwater baseboard system ?
The zone is strictly for heating only.
The other zone, another series loop, is run by a red Series 100.
With the bronze body circulator appearing to be a newer vintage, my guess is for some reason a bronze body was recommended as a replacement at some point ?
Thanks for any clues.
Also, are the pump bodies of the iron and bronze series 100 circulators interchangeable ?
Thanks again
