Escelera stair climbers

I have narrowed down my choice for purchasing a stair climber to an Escelera with the big wheel attachment, and possibly the removable fork lift attachment. I have used an Electro Truck and found it to be extremely top heavy in addition to just being plain heavy. I have looked into the Powermate, but they seem pricy and appear to be similar to the Electro Truck. I realize that the Escelera is limited to a climbing height of 10", but it seem to be the better overall choice for water heaters and boilers.
Does anyone own an Escelera in the Cape Cod, Massachusetts (50 miles south of Boston)area that I might be able to see in operation.
Any other comment on the Escelera good or bad would be appreciated.

stair cliimbers
Have tried them all and will stick with my Electro truck. It's more rugged and versitile than the others.. But I found a better one. He calls himself a salvage engineer, and he and his "little helpers" show up, out goes the old boiler and in come the new one, uncrated and in place, for less that I can think about doing it myself, and my back feels great!!!
MY electro-truck and I (I'm a big guy) took a 5 section Peeerless, intact, out a bulkhead, all by myself! It does the job!!!

tough call
I am getting ready to order an electro truck. I feel that it may be heavy but it is steel and will last a long time. It would be nice if it was lighter. But if your guys get a little rough with it then being made of a light weight material could be bad. I feel your pain, I wish there was a place you could go to try out all three.

Big wheels
are very important! you can hop right over people's oak thresh holds in the door ways very easily. Travelling in the grass would be a nasty chore w/o the big wheels as well.
The total machine with the elevator is quite heavy, all of our guys dread moving the thing around, but they all know that life w/o it would really stink.
Be careful the first time you go up or down any stairs with a load- the shift of balance has thrown two of my guys- pretty easy to get hurt if you're not careful!

We have two
Escalera lifts. We have been using them for 12+ years with great success, primarily for moving woodstoves into hundreds of homes of every possible configuration. Couldn't imagine running our woodstove business without them. I agree with the comments about the importance of the big wheels and learning to do stairs carefully until you get the hang of it.
