Burnham warning from home owner.

Learn from my mistake and avoid Burnham at all costs. My V7 series residential oil fired water boiler is leaking after only 5 years in service. Much research on this board and other related forums (and Burnham yearly financial report under liabilities)aknowledge Burnham had a manufacturing problem leading to product failure. They replaced the V7 line with the V8. Back to the V7 owner problem of Burnham willing to provide minimum compensation for an expensive problem. I'am the proud owner of a five year old rusty bucket of bolts.

Have you talked...
w/ a rep. from Burnham? They have been pretty good about working it out, you just need to talk w/ the right person. Glenn Stanton (from Burnham) hangs out here a lot and can get you set....EVERY boiler mfg. has has some bumps in the road...kpc0 -
I know...
for a fact they were taking care of these problem boilers.0 -
What a shame...
...you had a bad experience. I've been using Burnham for years and am a satisfied customer.

re Burnham
I asked this before,,,have you gotten an estimate for replacement and do you know what Burnham's allowance is? In our area it isn't as expensive as you are making it out to be. I did one alone and stayed with in the alloted labor allowance and I am not fast by some people's standards.

burnham knows they had a problem with the v7 oil boilers. call burnham at 717-397-4701 to get the name and phone number of the local burnham rep in your area or go to their web site at www.burnham.com for help. their new v8 oil boiler is great!!!0 -

Burnham leakers
Gus, Where do you live. I replace these Burnham leakers with Buderus Boilers. Most of my customers Don't want the burnham boiler put back in their house. Don't believe all these glowing reports of customer responsiveness in this thread. I have stories that would raise the hairs on the back of your neck. Burnham markets their product better than they make it. The last leaker call I recieved from one of my customers,Burnham offered me a Whopping $250 to compensate me for my Labor. Gus you can e-mail me @dvdlgn@netscape.net. and I will see if I can find someone who can help you out.Don't install another Burnham Boiler under any circumstances.0 -
I have found Burnham's support exceptional. My supplier has a great relationship with the rep, and they really go out of their way to make both the contractor and the customer happy. This is so much more than I can say about any of the other major mfrs, who have ALL had an issue or two with thier boilers.
Glenn Stanton will make it right for you. He is one of the few great rep's that frequent this forum, which speaks volumes about who keeps their finger on the industries pulse.

Burnham
It is great to see the support that most people are willing to give here. Problems will occur-it's a fact of life. The difference is in how those issues are handled. I know from experience that Burnham has done very well handling the issues that they have faced.0 -
I'll second that and add....
I have never had anything but great support from the folks at Burnham.
If you can't get satisfaction through your contractor or he from his supplier, then I'd suggest a direct contact be established.

Why
have you not involved your heating contractor with this problem? A quality contractor has the ability to work these problems out, even if the installation is 5-years old.
Bill0 -
its pretty clear to me.....
that the original poster has no intention of working out this problem by any means...its been 3 days and not one reply from him...just wanted to bad mouth Burnham I guess. kpc0 -
You could be correct ! (nm)

Could be
but many of us are away after posting and those three days can go fast.
Has anyone seen Glenn? He usually has responded by now.

Glenn's around....
has posted to some other threads.... probably figgered that this was was hopeless anyway, espec. since the feller didn't even have the guts to try and get back to anyone or him.
Some people you will NEVER make happy.....
God I hate it when I screw up and fail to screen them before I'm already in too deep.
No, this wasn't one of my installs, but.... I been there done that.....with others....0
