Here's what I am recommending - there are a couple of levels that I am ommitting to protect those involved so this offers a solution - the best solution is individual zone valves (pentiometers is a good one - thanks Jake) and spills.

    that trap at the end of the headers

    does not drip to the bottom = WRONG PICTURE

    ACAD can get you in trouble so easy!!!

    The drip is piped to the receiver tank
