you gotta cover your cost. What about gas, wear and tear. What if you break down? That is a very fair rate. Mad Dog

    ON THE ROAD DRIVE charge

We are in New Hampshire and some of the calls we get for estimates are a considerable distance. We are considering instituting a $65 travel charge per hour. We know this may detract some customers. Anyone else charge for travel time.

I have never heard it done by the hour. Locally, they charge $2.50 per mile, one way.

    Thanks

    driving

getting one or many opions is of value to a consumer.
either charge up front to help qualify the caller or build it into the buying customers charges. we have a trip fee that depends on distance, convience inconvience or emergency and who is going. more for the master ect.

    charge

we always charge for trips on service calls you have to do it. as far as estimates they are currently free as long as it is a big job in other words there are no free estimates for a repair. Of course those free estimates are built into our overhead pricing they have to be or we'd be broke! Either way somebodies gotta pay.
