Baseboard pinging?

expansion noise. The slower you bring up the temperature the better I would think. Going from a room temperature of 70 F to 180 supply causes the fin tube to expand quickly and ping or creak if the ends do not have room to move.
What temperature is it running at now? You may be able to back it down a bit.
If you have long baseboard runs, expansion joints may help take some "movement" I think Slant Fin still offers them.
Your reset control idea may be the best solution from comfort, noise, and fuel savings standpoint!

Baseboard Pinging
I have a client that has this type of baseboard and it is pinging all over. It keeps them up at night. Has anyone worked with this baseboard before? Is this normal for this type of baseboard. I was thinking about putting the system on constant circulation. It would require repipe and rewire. Is there a simple solution?

Has anyone delt with this baseboard before?
I know what it is from, expansion and contraction. They have a hot water coil, so I can't turn down the water any more. Slant fin isn't this loud. I have fixed slant fin before. I know it will get quieter. I haven't seen this baseboard before. Is this style of baseboard always this noisy? or can it be fixed? Is it worth the trouble to try? Or will I waste my time and end up doing out door reset any way. Has anyone delt with this baseboard before?
