Leave well enough alone ???

I've now re-piped the dry return and Hartford loop on my one pipe steam system, established better slope on all pipes, installed a correct main vent. All this has helped and in fact the system is working pretty well (probably need to clean down one more time). My question is: should I stop ? The near-boiler piping is now reasonable (one section is 2" copper among the black iron), but the take-off to the main is sorta crazy, with three 2" copper elbows and short nipples since the new boiler didn't line up, and the installer was too lazy to re-pipe any of the original main. Since it seems to work OK, my way of thinking is that even though this isn't aesthetically pleasing, a couple extra turns in the main is no big deal, and re-piping this would be costly as well as a pain (I would need a bigger wrench, for one). What do y'all think ?
