New Site

That picture on the Contact Page would definitely offend some people, and the spelling errors have already been pointed out. I would suggest that you replace that controversial pix with one of two little kids, one playing & the other asleep, leaving the text unchanged. Otherwise a good website! Way to go!

    Well, after some working and reworking, my always learning web maker friend has completed the layout of my website. It is far from finished, but we have all the general text in. Next step is to focus on the company more. I will eventually be enlisting the services of Dan and Colleen to help with the text portion of that. I am open to feedback if any one has any. Thanks.

    Ernie, nice website! A lot of thought went into designing that fine site. I noticed three things you might want to have changed:

    In welcome message: Experience not Experiance;
    In Main Menu: Testimonials not Testamonials;
    In Info menu: Polyethylene not Polyethyline

    I'm not being a nit-picker, I just think your site would be absolutely 1st rate with those changes in spelling. Nice Job!!

    Ernie,
    Very nice layout and not busy. Only problem I see is on contact page, what is that picture all about? Kind of looks kinky! Lol John@Reliable

    Ernie, Very nice web site you can be proud of it for sure. as far as the picture on the contact page that John has mentioned. I agree it's a little awkward. How about a guy or a gal doing a sit-up exercise?

    Excellent website Ernie. I agree with the responses above regarding the picture on the contact page. Looks excellent. I can see a lot of work went into designing and making the site

    Contact page

    Well, I thought it was a pretty humorous picture, especially with the quote next to it. All of your feedback means a lot to me and I can see I will have to change it. I agree it was "pushing the envelope" a bit! The typos are being taken care of. The subject of a lot of emailes to my web guy lately has been "spellchecker"? Thanks again for all of your input!

    Some added value ideas for your new website

    Your site is very organized and looks professional.

    I would suggest that you offer annual checks of existing systems. System checks show you care and they are far less expensive to the customer than repair and replacement. Let your web site explain why and you will hear from people who are already in agreement with you.

    As part of this offer, you could include cleaning and treatment of existing systems.

    Put your web address on every thing you hand out and not just your business cards. This includes invoices, proposals, brochures, and "thank you for the business" gifts. Anything you already have printed could be still used by getting a roll of small gold or silver labels and sticking them on your printed material. It looks good and makes the printing you paid for still useful.

    Good luck with your new site.

    Conversion to therms

    Ernie:

    Although my head hurts after doing all the math, I appreciated the conversion table putting the cost of heating into common measurements regardless of fuel source. Helps tell the story well. I might even send some of my customers over there when the conversation turns that direction...

    Conversion Factors

    Probably 80% of the area where we work does not have Natural Gas so we do predominately oil...It always kills me when a homeowner tells me that since they will have propane appliances, it just makes sense to heat their home with it. Smaller homes I can understand. It is when they are building a 5,000 sq ft home and up that I REALLY push it! I had a customer who decided to switch to propane from oil in the middle of his project because his architect didn't like the look of the chimney and didn't want a side vent visible in the driveway. The same customer also called me in the middle of the first winter SCREAMING about his propane usage. We came out and did a courtesy look over of the system and had to tell him I told you so!! (Not exactly in those words)

    I give those conversion factors to all potential customers.

    Added Value

    Thanks for the advice George. Yes, I do have big plans for the site. The basics are covered, NOW we will work on what we provide as far as service, design and installation. The projects page should grow prett rapidly too as soon as I get my rear in gear and go through all my photos.
