Utica Boilers PEG series. Right for me?

My GC is having his plumber install a Utica Boilers PEG150 CDE gas furnace as an upgrade to my existing steam heating plant. I'm in northern New Jersey, our home is approx. 1800 sq ft on 3 levels with baseboards on the main floor and cast iron radiators on the second and third floors. Can I be confident in his selection or is there something with a better price/performance that I should be looking into? Thanks for your feedback.

That's a nice boiler

We frequently install Columbia's version, the CEG. The side tappings for the steam pipes allow them to be used for skimming & flushing, as seen in the photo.

The drop header shown isn't required, but it goes together quickly and helps keep the steam dry.

Gas valve location?

Is that where they factory install the gas valve? It looks so low to the floor! How do you install the gas line sediment trap, out of curiousity?

you can see the dirt pocket from here. The plugged tee in the header is for an upcoming addition which we will heat with steam from this boiler.
